Advantages of Flying Private Are About More Than Comfort.
The Citation M2 flies in and out of major airports, but you can also choose to use many, many more convenient and less expensive alternatives. They are less congested, making your travel experience much more pleasant. You avoid excessive security, long check-in lines and passport and immigration control delays, meaning that you can arrive at the airport minutes, not hours before your flight.

Flying Above the Weather
The Citation M2 is designed to climb faster than airliners, so we are above poor weather sooner. Commercial jets cruise around 35,000 feet, we fly at 40,000 feet. That puts us above the traffic, so our routes are often more direct — we don't compete with bigger planes for space. This extra flexibility enables us to capture better winds and avoid adverse weather, too.
Privacy in the Air
Even in First and Business Class it is risky to have sensitive and confidential conversations. Regardless of hard you try, it can be difficult to be productive or prepare for important meetings while flying commercial. In a 2009 survey by the US National Business Aviation Association respondents rated themselves as 20% more productive while on private aircraft than in the office. Their counterparts flying commercial reported a 40% drop in productivity.
So the next time you wonder why companies spend tens of millions to buy their own jets instead of putting employees on commercial fights, know that it's not about creature comforts. It's about saving time and money. Membership of Sandaris Aviation’s exclusive flying group will enable you to benefit from all of these advantages at a mere fraction of the cost.
Citation M2
The Citation M2 is one of the most recent offerings from the legendary Cessna Aircraft company. The aircraft is capable of transporting as many as seven passengers and crew up to 1,500 miles at an altitude of 41,000 feet and at speeds of up to 460 miles per hour. Powered by two Williams jet turbine engines and controlled by the very latest avionics suite from Garmin, the Citation M2 is one of the most advanced passenger jets in service today.
M2 Tech Details
Leverage 404 knots maximum cruise speed and a 1,550-nautical mile range. Complete a typical 1,000-nautical-mile mission in two hours and 41 minutes in the Citation M2 versus three hours and 19 minutes in a typical competing turboprop. Enjoy weather-topping capabilities after directly climbing to 41,000 in 24 minutes. A useful load of 3,810 pounds with a baggage capacity of 725 pounds allows you to take your guests and their bags where you need to go.*
“As I’d suspected M2 left me speechless. I know Cessna wasn't redoing the 525 just for me, but they might as well have been. They took a tried-and-true performer, gave it a bit more power, remarkably easy to use avionics that cut down on workload and complexity, and a refined cabin that is sure to please the people in the back.”

Style and Comfort
Style and Comfort
The Citation M2 interior’s elegance matches its comfort. Eight large windows emphasize the spaciousness of the cabin. The interior layout provides seating for up to five passengers to work and relax comfortably. You can still stay connected while in flight with the M2’s integrated satellite phone, enabling you to call or text from your seat to anywhere in the world.
Cabin Amenities
The four M2 club chairs have retractable inboard armrests and are also fully adjustable, adding to your comfort. Left- and right-side, foldout work-
tables may be extended between pairs of facing club chairs. There are also left- and right-side 240-volt AC power outlets, below the worktable enabling you to power laptops, etc.
Advanced Avionics
The M2 is controlled by a state-of-the-art touchscreen avionics system from industry leader Garmin. All critical functions are monitored through this system and flight planning and navigation are also catered for. This means that the flight crew can quickly set up the system for any mission and throughout the flight monitor and easily adjust the flight plan or aircraft systems. The main advantage of this very modern facility is that it greatly reduces the workload of the crew leading to an enhance level of safety and utility during all stages of flight.
Why Not Charter?
Chartering is one way of accessing executive aircraft, however, it’s not without its problems. Charters are normally arranged by brokers who request bids from aircraft operators. The broker will often select the lowest bid in attempt to gain your business, this isn’t always the best option for you. You will have little or no control over the age or condition of the aircraft. True, it must meet regulatory standards, but that doesn’t mean that the interior of the aircraft reflects the price you will have to pay. Additionally, you have no control over the selection of the crew.
Hidden Costs
An even more important factor are the real costs of charter. Usually you will be quoted an hourly rate for your journey, but that is only the beginning; you will normally also have to pay landing and handling fees, fuel surcharges. In most cases you will also have to pay for dead-legs and the net result of all of this is that the hourly price you have to pay is often more that double the original hourly rate you were quoted.
What about Netjets?
NetJets is an excellent organisation with a fleet of high quality airplanes, manned by professional crews. They guarantee access to their fleet at short notice and they provide an excellent service. The two pricing models, are fractional ownership and the Private Jet Card.
Fractional Ownership
In the fractional ownership model you buy, say, a sixteenth of an aircraft and then pay for each hour you fly. The usual commitment is five years. The fractional ownership model is very expensive. After paying £500,000 for a sixteenth of an aircraft there are then charges for each hour of flying and if you leave the scheme after five years NetJets will charge you an annual depreciation rate of 10% on your fractional cost, meaning that the contract will have cost you £250,000.
Jet Cards
££££
With the Jet Card you purchase increments of 25 hours of flying. One of the advantages of NetJets is that they do not charge for ‘deadlegs’. However, the basic charges are very high, and in addition they add a fuel levy, further increasing your costs.
The Sandaris Aviation Option
Membership of the Sandaris Aviation Exclusive Jet Group gives you the majority of the benefits of the NetJets Jet Card without the large initial financial commitment and without any depreciation costs and at less than 50% of the price. If, for example, you purchased a lease for 50 hours you would then have access to the Citation M2 with a guarantee of availability. A maximum of only four leases will be issued, meaning that you will, in effect, have your own virtual aircraft, available when you need it. Each hour of flying will then cost a relative small amount. Typical comparative costs are shown here.
